Phoenix, AZ Rooftop Mixer
The same corporate team that hosted an internal rooftop mixer at Dallas HQ brought me back for a second event. This time at Eden Rooftop on top of the Kimpton Hotel in downtown Phoenix with approximately 50 team members for an afternoon-into-evening cocktail mixer overlooking the city, the stadiums, and the mountains framing the valley.
Different city, different rooftop, same internal team, and the same approach. Relaxed, cohesive, and reflective of company culture. For larger corporate events in Las Vegas, the production scale shifts significantly, but the approach stays the same.

The Environment
A rooftop in Phoenix has its own rhythm. The sun stays strong well into the evening, the city hums below, and you can't force the energy with 50 people on a team mixer. It has to come up on its own.
I opened with beachy summer hits while the heat was still up, gave everyone time to grab a drink and settle in. As the sun dropped behind the mountains the music shifted with it, into something slower and more golden. Once the temperature broke I let things build, slowly raising the volume as the night went on.
People started dancing where they stood, singing along to songs they hadn't heard in years. The last half hour I pulled it back down so the night could end on something quieter rather than a hard stop.
The Eden rooftop held its energy throughout the evening, with music shaping the atmosphere rather than overpowering it. Sound carried evenly across the space, transitions felt natural, and the night stayed polished and relaxed from cocktail hour through the last song.
Corporate mixers like this come down to awareness and restraint. Knowing when to push the energy, when to pull it back, and when to let the rooftop and the city skyline do the talking.
