I was the kid in college going to the pawn shop on the first week of school to buy the biggest stereo system I could afford. If you were a student in any of the adjacent dorm rooms to mine, I would like to take this time to formally apologize for all the SoundCloud songs I thought were bangers.

One night I went dancing and a friend said to me "Wow, you know every song!" This stuck with me because I had never heard a lot of the songs, but I did have an innate connection to the music and was anticipating the shifts in tempo, vibe, and rhythm on the dance floor.

Soon after, I enrolled in a DJ academy called Deckademics where I learned the art of DJing on turntables. Through the Academy I got my first gig: a student showcase at a local bar in Indianapolis. Yes, I crushed my exclusively SoundCloud set, but no one enjoyed it quite as much as me.

Since that night in 2014, I have been on an endless hunt for all the songs people love, learning them front to back, dropping them at the perfect time, and blending them in ways that feel fresh. Like you are hearing it "for the very first time."
