GREYSTONE MANSION WEDDING DJ & MC BEVERLY Hills

Greystone Mansion & Gardens is one of the most iconic wedding venues in Beverly Hills. The estate sits above the city with sweeping views of Los Angeles, creating a setting that feels both grand and intimate at the same time.

Weddings here unfold across multiple areas of the property. From the formal gardens for ceremony, to cocktail hour overlooking the city, to the courtyard for dinner and dancing. The environment does a lot of the work, but how the day moves between those spaces is what defines the experience.

I DJ weddings at Greystone with a focus on flow and preparation. Each transition feels natural, the energy stays connected, and intentional.

That same approach carries across all of my weddings throughout Los Angeles, where the focus is always on how the day moves and feels.

Formal Garden Ceremonies at Greystone Mansion

Ceremonies at Greystone typically take place on the lawn below the walkway, surrounded by historic stone architecture and manicured gardens. It is important to note that pre-ceremony music should be played on the leve below the steps leading up to the ceremony lawn where guests arrive.

Because of the layout of the ceremony area, audio needs to be handled carefully. Sound has to carry clearly across the lawn while staying out of sight for photos. Positioning speakers at the right height and distance makes all the difference. Proper excecution of this ensure guests hear every word without the setup ever pulling focus from the setting.

After the ceremony, guests move and down a large staircase, and around the outer walls of the reception space into cocktail hour overlooking the city.

This is one of the most open and visually impressive parts of the venue—but it’s also where energy can easily spread out. Guests naturally wander, take photos, and explore the grounds.

Placing music intentionally—especially near the bar—keeps that area upbeat and social, while allowing the rest of the space to stay relaxed. The goal isn’t to control where people go, but to make sure wherever they are still feels connected to the moment, whether that is music and drinks, or views and conversation.

COCKTAIL HOUR OVERLOOKING LOS ANGELES

At Greystone, there’s little to no cell service, which means everything has to be prepared ahead of time. There’s no relying on last-minute downloads or requests, and DJs who aren’t prepared can truly flop here.

The dance floor is typically off to the side rather than central due to the fountain. Guests can see it from their tables and the role of the DJ is to subtly show where the energy is. A great DJ will set the tone early by using music, timing, and presence to pull people in without forcing it.

Throughout the day, it comes down to anticipation. Knowing where guests will gather before they get there, keeping transitions connected, and making sure the energy carries across every level of the property.

When it’s handled well, everything feels effortless. But that can only happens when the flow is understood ahead of time.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT GREYSTONE MANSION

A common mistake is assuming the energy will carry on its own. With how expansive the property is, it’s easy for moments to feel separated if they’re not intentionally connected.

I approach it differently.

Instead of staying behind the booth the entire time, I’m focused on guiding attention when it matters—especially during key transitions like the grand entrance. After a long day, guests are ready to sit, eat, and reset. Taking a moment to step out, reset the room, and bring people back into it makes a noticeable difference.

From there, I stay more in the background—mixing live, adjusting energy based on who’s actually on the floor, and letting the night build naturally.

It’s about knowing when to step in, and when to let the room take over.

A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO DJING GREYSTONE

SOUND SETUP AT GREYSTONE MANSION

Sound at Greystone comes down to placement and awareness.

With multiple levels and open space it's about what works for the flow of the event, not what's convenient. I always give myself an extra half-hour to set up here as it requires running longer cables, often through bushes, and having everything in the ideal place for the events of the evening.

For ceremony, speakers need to be positioned low and out of sight while still covering the entire lawn. During cocktail hour, music should support the bar and social areas without overpowering the quieter parts of the property.

For the reception, placing speakers around the edges of the dance floor—rather than just near the DJ booth—helps pull the energy into one place. The goal is to make the music feel focused where people are dancing, while still present throughout the space.

Handled correctly, everything feels connected without ever being too loud or overwhelming.

PLANNING YOUR WEDDING AT GREYSTONE MANSION

Couples planning weddings at Greystone Mansion often look for vendors who understand how the estate moves, not just how it looks.

Because Greystone operates on a lottery system, many weddings are booked with shorter lead times than typical venues. Securing the right DJ early can make a big difference in how smoothly everything comes together.

This is a venue where alignment between the planner, DJ, and venue team matters. Great planners like Bright Blue Events and
à la Modon Events understand how to stay calm, think ahead, and guide the day with intention rather than over-directing it.

When that alignment is there, the entire experience feels natural, balanced, and easy for guests from start to finish.
